Betty R. Mieleszewicz, residing in South Bend, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on the evening of Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at the age of 93 years old. She was born July 30, 1928 in South Bend, IN, and was a daughter of the late Morris & Catherine (Hagen) Crowder, and has remained a lifelong resident of this community.On October 7, 1951 in South Bend, she was united in marriage to Joseph Mieleszewicz, and together, they enjoyed 62 years of marriage until his passing on December 25, 2013. Betty retired from the Signature Group-Montgomery Ward. She was a longtime member of Pentecostal Apostolic Church in South Bend. She is survived by her two daughters, Patti Jo (Jerry) Wallis, and Sandra J. (Dan) Wright, both of South Bend, three grandchildren, Teresa Wright, Amanda Wallis, and Ashley Wallis, along with a great-grandson Roman Diaz. She was preceded in death by six sisters, Marie Seese, Ada Cessna, Marcia Reever, Jennie Barnaby, Lillian Reese, and Frances Dillon, along with two brothers, Claude and Paul Crowder. Betty loved cooking and baking. She also enjoyed decorating for the holidays and parties. She was happiest when she could cook for family and friends and they would gather around the table together. She also was a wonderful gardener, and was gifted in crocheting, knitting and sewing. Most of all, she loved to be in church, serve the church, and worship her Lord. Services celebrating Betty’s life will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, at Pentecostal Apostolic Church, 59366 Mayflower Road, South Bend. Rev. Darrell Hale will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Tuesday at Church. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Mieleszewicz may be offered to Pentecostal Apostolic Church. Online condolences to the family may be sent to www.palmerfuneralhomes.com. The Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
