Joseph F. Mieleszewicz, 90 of South Bend, IN passed away 4:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 25, 2013 in his home. He was born on December 27, 1922 in South Bend, IN to the late Peter and Mary (Kozenewska) Mieleszewicz. On October 7, 1951, in South Bend, IN, he was united in marriage to the former Betty R. Crowder. Mr. Mieleszewicz is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Betty Mieleszewicz; two daughters, Patti Jo (Gerald II) Wallis of New Carlisle, IN and Sandra J. (Danny) Wright of South Bend, IN; three granddaughters, Teresa Wright of South Bend, IN, Amanda (Justin) Wallis Krull of New Jersey and Ashley Wallis of Cincinnati, OH and sister, Helen Miller of South Bend, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Annie Kistler and brother, Stanley Miller. Mr. Mieleszewicz was a lifelong resident. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked as a machinist at Dodge Manufacturing for over thirty years and then worked part time as a driver for Avis. He has been a faithful member of Mayflower Apostolic Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Mayflower Apostolic Church, 59366 Mayflower Road, South Bend, IN. Military services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN and one hour prior to the services in church. Contributions in memory of Joseph F. Mieleszewicz may be offered to the Mayflower Apostolic Church, 59366 Mayflower Road, South Bend, IN 46619.
