Thomas A. Bogucki

ELKHART - Thomas Anthony Bogucki, 72, passed away at home on Saturday, November 7, 2015. Thomas was born on January 29, 1943 in South Bend to Stanley and Henrietta (Pietraszewski) Bogucki. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Raymond Bogucki. On June 15, 1963 in St. Albert's in South Bend, he married the former Kathleen Hansen. Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Kathleen; two children, Charlene (Randy) Ives of South Bend and Frederick (Arvilla) Bogucki of Osceola; sister-in-law, Jane Bogucki of Hastings, MN and a nephew, Dennis Bogucki of Pearce, AZ. Thomas worked for Olivers in South Bend then Dodge Manufacturing and then was a Truck Driver. He was a member of the Teamsters Union 364 in South Bend, a member of Club 15 for 45 years, American Legion 308 in Osceola and the St. Joe Club. He loved golfing, bowling and playing euchre. He was a quiet man but liked being around people. He considered his friends his family. He was a kind and considerate man to everyone he knew. He loved going to Four Winds casino. He would receive a coupon for a "free gift" that he would have to go claim, but it was never really a free gift after staying to play the poker machines. The family would like to thank Elkhart General Hospital for all the care they had provided to Thomas. Most recently the three nurses, Debbie, Ryan and Alexa that we want to thank personally for the care they provided. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, November 13 at 10:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Mishawaka. Burial will follow in Olive Cemetery, Elkhart. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Foundation Supporting Center for Hospice Care: South Bend-Elkhart-Plymouth, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
