ELKHART - Janet L. Lambka, 71, of Elkhart, passed away Monday November 21, 2016 at Miller's Merry Manor in Wakarusa. She was born July 9, 1945 in Elkhart to the late Guy & Gladys (Hall) Hartman. On October 18, 1963 in Elkhart she married Billy J. Lambka. He survives along with two children, Fred Lambka and Tammy (Keith) Bainter both of Elkhart; two sisters, Sandy (Richard) Oakley of Bremen and Nancy Schweinder of Elkhart. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Janet graduated in 1963 from Elkhart High School. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading. She was known for her wonderful sugar cookies and was often referred to as “the cookie lady”. Janet retired from Martin's Supermarkets in 2010. Visitation for family and friends will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday and from 10-11 a.m. Monday at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday November 28, 2016 at the funeral home. Pastor Dan Brennaman will preside and burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.
