From the SOUTH BEND (IN) TRIBUNE, Wednesday, April 20, 1988:

Carl J. Markiewicz, 77, of 811 S. Arnold St. died at 6:14 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Mr. Markiewicz retired in 1978 as a photo-lithographer for Petersen Printing Corp. after 50 years. He was born Nov. 11, 1910, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. On Oct. 1, 1938, in South Bend, he married the former Mamie Klysz. She died Dec. 19, 1984. He is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann DeKever and Margaret Vander Heyden, both of Mishawaka; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Hyduk and Alice Gruber, both of South Bend.
