Mary "Mamie" Markiewicz, 70, of 811 S. Arnold St., died at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. She was born April 22, 1914, in South Bend, and was a lifetime area resident. On Oct. 1, 1938, as Mary Klysz, she married Clem Markiewicz, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mary Ann DeKever and Margaret VanderHeyden, both of Mishawaka; five grandchildren; and three sisters, Harriett Leda, Clara Nowak and Dorothy Kozuch, all of South Bend.
A sister, Evelyn O'Chap, and a brother, Bert Klysz Jr., preceded her in death.
