Mr Norman B Simcox, age 88, of 2706 W. Schultz Rd, LaPorte, Ind, died Friday, March 3, 2006, at 4:15 pm at his residence in La Porte, Ind. He was born January 7, 1918 in LaPorte, Ind. to the late Jesse F Simcox and the late Rose C Cox Simcox, and has lived in the LaPorte area most all of his life. Mr Simcox was employed as an operating engineer by Seneca Petroleum Co. of Michigan City, Ind. He was a member of the Three Oakes Masonic Lodge F&AM #239, past member of the LaPorte Aero Club, Senior Bowling League and the Pine Lake Promenaders Square Dance Club. On Feb 15, 1941 in South Bend, Ind, he married Bernice Janzaruk who survives. He is also survived by daughter, Mrs Norma J Jones of South Bend, Ind; and brother, Mr J Willard Simcox of LaPorte, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jack Simcox and brother, Arnold Simcox. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc, 602 Maple Ave, LaPorte, Ind, where the family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Monday, March 6, 2006 and from Noon until time of the service Tuesday March 7, 2006. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 2 pm Tuesday, March 7, 2006. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice, PO Box 250, LaPorte, Ind 46352.

Niles - Wesley Cox, 76, of 2393 US 12, died suddenly at 3:03 pm Thursday on arrival at Pawating Hospital.
An Army veteran of World War I, he was a retired engineer for the Penn Central Railroad. Born Dec 14, 1898, in Olive Hill, Ky, he lived in Niles since 1921. On May 4, 1950, he married the former Esther Stuber.
She survives along with two sons, Frank and Lawrence Cox of Niles, two stepsons, William and Larry Rhoads of Niles, a daughter, Mrs Debbie Smith of Niles, three step daughters, Mrs Mary True, Mrs Darlene Meador and Mrs Sandra Robbins, all of Niles; a brother, William Cox of New Troy, Mich; a sister, Mrs Rose Simcox of LaPorte, Ind; 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Saturday in the Halbritter Funeral Home, with the Rev Ralph Pletcher of Coulter's Chapel Church ociating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
Friends may call after 3 pm Friday at the Funeral home.
