SOUTH BEND - Wilma Eileen McQuade, 90, formerly of North Liberty, passed away on Wednesday, April 5 at Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation in South Bend. Wilma was born on August 23, 1926 in Wyandotte, MI to Wilber and Blanche (Allton) Hiles. On June 26, 1947 she married Walter Bernard McQuade. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; daughters, Barbara Stock and Lorraine Hastings; son, Walter “Wally” McQuade; sisters, Martha Anders, Marilyn Hiles and Barbara Renick and brothers, Wilber and Richard Hiles. Surviving are her children, Karen (Dennis) Maenhout of North Liberty, IN, and Paula Jean McQuade of South Bend; daughter-in-law, Marie McQuade of Mishawaka; 14 grandchildren; five great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. Wilma worked for Crown International in Elkhart, she was a stay at home mother when her children were small. Nothing was more important to Wilma than family. As per Wilma's wishes, cremation will take place and there will be a graveside service at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.
