Services for Pete J. Karras, 94, of 270 David St.,Roseland, who died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday in his home, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Andrew's Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Mr. Karras was the founder and co-owner of Washington Shoe Repair and Michiana Beverage Co. Born in Ordu, Turkey, he had lived in South Bend since 1916. On Jan. 10, 1932, in Pireaus, Greece, he married Mary Kakoulidou. [Note: Alternate spellings of the maiden name of Marika "Mary" are Kakoulieis and Kakoulidis.] She survives with a son, J. George of South Bend; a brother, Steve J. of South Bend; and a niece and nephew. Mr. Karras was a member of the St. Andrews Church, AHEPA, American Legion Post 50 and DAV Chapter 6, where he served as past commander. He was a World War I veteran. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
