NORTH LIBERTY -Thomas A. Grunwald, 60, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010, in his residence. Tom was born on May 4, 1950, in South Bend, to Anton and Mary (Strantz) Grunwald. He was employed by AEP and was a member of the Knights of Columbus #5521, St. Vincent DePaul Society, St. Jude's Ushers and the Food Bank. Tom served his country in the United States Navy. On July 2, 1977, in South Bend, he married the former Mary Kennedy, who survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Maureen Grunwald of Mishawaka; mother, Mary Grunwald of South Bend; five sisters, Kathleen (John) Sams of New Carlisle, Rosalie LaBerge of Michigan City, Anna Marie (Don) Kelly, Marlene (Jim) Woodworth and Karen (Fred) Gaboury, all of South Bend; and a brother, Steven Grunwald of South Bend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2010, in St. Jude Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 today and one hour prior to services Friday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Memorial contributions may be made to the Food Bank.
