Jennifer Marie Serban
August 24, 1978 - November 19, 2021
Jennifer Marie Serban, 43, passed peacefully on November 19, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. She was born to James Serban, Sr and Sheryl (Allen) Lacy in South Bend, Indiana on August 24, 1978. Jennifer is survived by her former spouse, John Schleicher; her father, James Serban, Sr.; her brother James Serban, Jr.; her uncle William Serban; her uncle, Daniel (Wendy) Serban; her cousins, Savannah Serban, Sierra Serban and Sydney Serban. Her grandparents George and Virginia Serban preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by her mother Sheryl (Wallace) Lacy. She is survived by her aunt, Alice Allen; cousins, Lucas Ballew and Matthew Ballew; her uncle, Stewart (Holly) Allen. Her grandparents Stewart and Marie Allen preceded her in death. Jennifer worked at St. Joseph Hospital and was passionate about helping and caring for others. She graduated from St. Joseph High School and went on to receive a degree at Chaminade University of Honolulu. Jennifer loved her friends and family above all. She always took the time to make sure everyone was doing well and to reach out with a visit or phone call. She enjoyed late night conversations with her Aunt Alice (Allen), cooking with her big brother Jim (Serban), spending time with her cousin Luke (Ballew) and best friends Carrie Robinson and Christi Hildebrand. Those that knew her knew her beautiful smile could luminate a room. Her contagious laughter brought a smile to everyone she encountered. She had an endless love for animals. She loved hiking, traveling, painting, crafting, music, essential oils, concerts, festivals, photography (she had a great eye), and spending time with friends. Most of all she loved her mother and best friend Sheryl. Jennifer had a soul that touched us all. She was loved by many. We were so lucky to have someone that makes saying goodbye so hard. Until we meet again, beautiful friend. We will be holding a celebration of life on Saturday, December 18th, 2021 from 2-5:00 p.m. at Bowlers Country Club 55839 Pine Rd., South Bend, IN 46619. Friends and family are welcome to visit. There will be a potluck, photos, a chance for anyone to share memories of Jenn. Posted online on December 02, 2021. Published in South Bend Tribune
