[N30462] Sheryl Lacy
July 13, 1949 - Sept. 10, 2015

SOUTH BEND - Sheryl Marie (Allen) Lacy departed from this life on September 10, 2015, in the company of her husband, sister and children, from a long illness; she was 66 years old. Sheryl was born on July 13, 1949, to the union of Stewart Jr. and Marie (Butch) Allen in Hillsboro, OR; she later relocated to South Bend, IN. Sheryl was joined in marriage to Wallace Lacy Sr. on August 20, 1994. Sheryl was an avid decorator; her talent shined in her home in which each room was a unique and beautiful theme. Sheryl was an intake receptionist at the VA clinic; she worked a number of other jobs but the one that she took most pride of working was selling paints at Creative Galleries in Kalamazoo, MI. Sheryl was preceded in death by her mother, Marie, and father, Stewart, as well as her mother and father-in-law, Wilbur & Essie Lacy. She leaves to cherish her memory a sister, Alice Allen; brother, Stewart Allen III; daughters: Jennifer Serban, Nicole (William) White, Novella Lacy; sons, James Serban Jr., Wallace (Carmen) Lacy Jr.; eight brother and sisters-in-law; along with a host of family and friends. Memorial services will take place on Friday, September 18, 2015; gathering begins at 10 am, with the service following at 11 am at Trinity Church, 61770 Miami Road, South Bend, IN. I'm Free By Shannon Lee Moseley Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free. I'm following the path God has chosen for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call; I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way; I've found now peace at the end of the day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss; Oh yes, these things, I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, Look for the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much; Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch, Perhaps my time seems all too brief; Don't lengthen your time with undue grief. Lift up your heart and peace to thee, God wanted me now - He set me free 2 Timothy 4:7 - "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept faith."
