Walter C. Baranowski
Oct. 5, 1917 - July 29, 1999 Walter C. Baranowski, 81, of South Bend, Ind. passed away at 4:14 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, 1999 in St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center. Mr. Baranowski was born on October 5, 1917 in South Bend and was a lifelong resident. He retired on November 30, 1984 from Ivy Tech State College. On April 15, 1944, in South Bend, he married Alfreda J. Cwiklinski, who survives. Also surviving is his daughter Mary Fisher (William) of Granger, Ind.; a son, Paul W. Baranowski of Granger; and three grandchildren, Jeffrey Fisher, Gregory Fisher, and Kelly Fisher; and a sister, Phyllis Kronkowski of South Bend. He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 2, 1999 in St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, where members of the American Legion Post # 50 will conduct military services. Friends may call from 3 until 6 p.m. today in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish rosary will be prayed at 4:00 p.m. Mr. Baranowski was a W.W. II Army Veteran, serving in the Medical Corps. He was also a 50 year member of the American Legion Post #50.
