ELKHART - Beatrice C. Doktor, 92, of Elkhart, formerly of Osceola, passed away at 4:35 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2009, in Hubbard Hill Estates, Elkhart. Beatrice was born on July 11, 1916, in Plymouth, IN, to the late John and Catherine (Richards) Miller. On November 10, 1934, she married John Doktor Jr., who passed away on November 11, 1980. She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jeane Doktor, three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by two children, John E. (Jeane) Doktor of Mishawaka and Lorraine (George) Dorbin of Colorado Springs, CO; seven grandchildren, Patrick Dorbin, James Dorbin, Helen Collins, Laurie Dorbin, Mamie Doktor, John E. Doktor Jr. and Jennifer Fink. She is also survived by six great- grandchildren, Eric, Benjamin, Daniel, Vanessa and Nicholas Dorbin, and Nathan Collins. Beatrice was a farm wife involved in all aspects of farming. She will be remembered for her love of the Lord, life and most importantly, her family. She was a member of St. Mark's Missionary Church, Mishawaka. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 29, in the funeral home, with Rev. Floran Mast officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
