Patricia A. Skierkowski, 68, of South Bend, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2006, at 7:30 p.m. in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. Pat was born on October 14, 1937, in South Bend, to Casimir and Mary (Lewandowski) Bentkowski. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by a sister, Rose Kalka. On January 18, 1958, she married Harry Skierkowski in St. Mary's National Catholic Church, South Bend. He survives along with their daughter, Diane Skierkowski of South Bend; three sisters, Josephine (Raymond) Dembinski, Lorraine (Theodore) Piechocki and Evelyn (Leo) Lyczynski; brother, Chester (Irene) Bentkowski; 16 nieces and nephews; 29 great-nieces and nephews; many great-great-nieces and nephews; and a special great-great-niece, Katie Szulczyk. Pat was a loving and caring mother, wife and sister. Her family was the most important. She was a member of St. Mary's National Catholic Church. She enjoyed word search puzzles and traveling with her husband, Harry, daughter, Diane, and niece, Pam. Visitation will be today, August 24, 2006, from 2 to 8 p.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824, S. MAYFLOWER ROAD, SOUTH BEND, where there will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, August 25, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. in St. Mary's National Catholic Church. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clergy Pension Fund, c/o St. Mary's National Church, 159 N. Summit Drive, South Bend, IN 46619.
