BONITA SPRINGS, FL - Lyle Dewey Burnside, 84, of Bonita Springs, Florida, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009. He was born September 19, 1924, in Walkerton, Indiana, the son of Wilder Lane and Weltha Ann (nee Phebus) Burnside. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. He founded and was president of B&G Construction Co. of Mishawaka for 34 years. He was an avid golfer, had been a member of South Bend Country Club, The Vines Country Club in Fort Myers, and was a member of The Brooks at Spring Run Country Club in Bonita Springs, Florida. He had recorded 11 holes-in-one in his celebrated golfing career. Mr. Burnside is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy M. (nee Lobeck) Burnside; his children, Larry (Sharon), Gregory (Cathy) and Janet (Mark) Fish of Alpharettta, GA; and five grandchildren, Christian and Lindsay Burnside, Steven Burnside, Katelyn and Andrew Fish. A memorial service was held Sunday, March 15th, in the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs. Military funeral honors followed.
