SOUTH BEND - Casimir J. Mezykowski, 91, passed away at 7:35 a.m. on Friday, June 12th, in the Caring Junction Group Home, Mishawaka. Casimir was born on September 11, 1917, in South Bend, to the late William and Tillie (Brodzinski) Mezykowski. On September 11, 1948, Casimir married Edna L. (Kilinski), who passed away in 2000. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Frances Huffard and Bernice Ewald; and by brothers, John, Alex and Frank. Casmir is survived by his daughter, Ann M. (William) Duncan of South Bend; a son, Michael (Janet) Mezykowski of South Bend; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Casimir was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II, and worked for Krizman Manufacturing for 17 years before retiring in 1980. He was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Catholic Church, and was a member of Harvest House and American Legion Post 357. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today, June 14th, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 15th, in St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Visitation will also be from noon to 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home on Monday, June 15, prior to the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Catholic Church, 415 N. Brookfield St., South Bend, IN 46628; or to Southern Care Hospice, 310 W. McKinley Ave., #340, Mishawaka, IN 46545. For those who are unable to attend the funeral liturgy, condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
