MISHAWAKA - Rose Marie Rydzinski, 69, passed away on November 2, 2017, at her home in Mishawaka. She was born on February 16, 1948, in Mishawaka. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Vellucci, and mother, Irene (Horvath) Vellucci. Her sibling, Jim Vellucci, passed away on November 3, 2017, in Florida. On August 26, 1967, Rose married Marcel Rydzinski, her high school sweetheart. He survives along with 4 children, Chad (Suzanne) Rydzinski, Joshua (Laura) Rydzinski, Kelly Jo (Dale) Snyder and Marcus Allen Newling. Also surviving are her two brothers, Don (Chris) Vellucci and Frank (Patti) Vellucci, along with 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Rose graduated from Penn High School in 1966 and received her Master's in Education from IU South Bend University. She was a teacher at PHM schools for over 24 years; teaching was her passion and she enjoyed her peers and students very much. After receiving the Lily Grant from the Eli Lilly Foundation, Rose was able to visit Italy, a lifelong dream. Rosie's hobbies included playing piano at church, reading, teaching ladies Bible studies, cooking and gardening. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 18th, at River Valley Community Church, 55855 Bittersweet Rd., Mishawaka, IN 46545. Visitation will begin at 10:30. A worship celebration will begin at 11:15 with her husband Mark officiating. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff from Beacon Healthcare Systems and Heartland Hospice for all the wonderful care they took of Rose. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Heartland Hospice. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with her arrangements. Published in South Bend Tribune on Nov. 12, 2017
