MISHAWAKA - James O. Hanks Jr., of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away at 6:10pm on Thursday, March 31st, 2016 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. He was born on December 24th, 1931 in South Bend, Indiana to James and Vanice (Maffitt) Hanks who preceded him in death along with two of his brothers, Jack Hanks and Jerry Hanks. On May 26th, 1973, he married Beverly A. Armentrout in South Bend, Indiana. She survives with their children, Paula Cochran of South Bend, Indiana, Rachel Szikszai of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jullie (Carter) Stucker of Skiatook, Oklahoma, James Andrew Hanks and Jason M. (Tracey) Hanks, both of Mishawaka, and his brother, John (Wilma) Hanks of Phoenix, Arizona. Also surviving are three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Jim was employed at Bendix as a Tool and Die Maker until his retirement in 1986. He was a 1950 graduate of Riley High School and served in the U.S. Navy. Friends will be received from 2:00pm until 6:00pm Sunday at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, Indiana where services will be held at 1:00pm Monday, April 4th with Pastor David L. Klahr of New Creation Fellowship officiating. Entombment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, following the services on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Olympics.
