Henry J. Poznanski, aged 48, of 317 East Ewing avenue, died at 6:15 p.m. Sunday in Epworth hospital after an illness of four weeks. Born in Poland Aug. 27, 1893, he came to South Bend from that country 46 years ago. On. Nov. 25, 1918, he was married in St. Hedwige’s Roman Catholic church to Miss Lottie Jendrzejewska, who survives. Also surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Poznanski; three daughters, Mrs. Esther Forcycki and Misses Elaine and Delores Poznanski; eight brothers, Walter, Leo, Casimir, Clement, Harry, Louis and Joseph Poznanski, all of South Bend, and Sergt. Raymond Poznanski, with the United States army in northern Ireland, and five sisters, Mrs. William Pleoubar, of Niles, Mich.; Mrs. J.P. Kopas, of Chicago; Mrs. William C. King, Mrs. S. Beitler and Miss Irene Poznanski, all of South Bend. Friends will be received in the home Tuesday afternoon. The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday in St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic church with Rev. Arnold J.Wibbert, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Polish cemetery. Mr. Poznanski was employed as a tool maker at the Bendix Aviation corporation plant.
