[N3006] Lorraine C. Maeyens
Aug. 26, 1927 - Feb. 14, 2015
SOUTH BEND - Lorraine C. (Wright) Maeyens, 87, went to heaven at 8:08 am on Valentine's Day to spend that day with the love of her life for over 66 years, her husband, Theophiel Maeyens, who preceded her in death on November 26, 2014. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Everett and Mathilda (Stoffelen) Wright, brother, Everett Wright, Jr., a son, David Maeyens, and a daughter, Julie Maeyens. Survivors of Lorraine include her children, Michael (Elizabeth) Maeyens of South Bend, Kathryn (Roger) Maeyens-Mattix of South Bend, Mary Wanke of Elkhart, Lori (Bill) Claeys of Edwardsburg and Renita (Len) Dygulski of South Bend, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Lorraine was born on August 26, 1927 in South Bend. She was a graduate of Washington High School. On May 1, 1948 in South Bend Lorraine married her loving husband Theophiel. Lorraine was a faithful, loving, hardworking wife and mother. Her family was her heart. Nothing in this world meant more to her than that. She was a care giver to her parents, mother-in-law, aunt, and many kids in the neighborhood. She loved making holidays special on Thanksgiving and Christmas; our house was filled with 50-60 people or more and she made the dinner. It was a lot of work, but she loved every minute, especially the noise and chaos. Our house was always like grand central station. Mom always supported us in every extracurricular activity. Lorraine enjoyed baking, bowling, working in her yard, crocheting, crafts, and taking walks along the beach. The highlight in her life was the trip to Hawaii for their 25th Anniversary. Visitation for Lorraine will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, February 19, 2015 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. where Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, February 20, 2015 in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Garden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, Indiana 46545. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
