SOUTH BEND - Richard A. Kish Sr., 81, residing in South Bend, IN, passed away at 6:15 PM Monday, September 27, 2010, in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. He was a owner of Advance Engineering in Niles, MI, salesman for ten years at Accraline, Inc. where he continued to work part-time since 1997. Mr. Kish was born on January 3, 1929, in South Bend, IN, to Joseph B. and Mary S. (Sipotz) Kish, and was a lifelong resident. On August 12, 1949, in Falmouth, VA, he married Mary Frances (Payne) Kish, who preceded him in death on February 18, 2005. Mr. Kish is survived by his daughter, Diana L. Kish of South Bend; son, Ric Kish of Streetsboro, OH; his longtime friend, Ora Lee Crowel; and numerous nieces and nephews who love and cherish him. One brother, Joseph J. Kish, preceded him in death. Richard was a Marine veteran, having served during the Korean War, lifetime member of Marine Corps League, a member of Elks #235, Elks Lodge Bingo Worker, an officer for the Riley Alumni Association, and a founding member of Corvilla, Inc. He was an avid Notre Dame fan and a 50+ year season ticket holder. Richard was a lifetime member of St. Anthony's where he served as a Eucharistic minister and usher. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 30, 2010, at St. Anthony dePadua Catholic Church. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 8:00 PM today in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, where a Rosary will be recited at 4:00 PM.
