Yolanda Pecze (Batiz) of South Bend, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 at the age of 88. She was born on June 20, 1933 in Leechburg, PA to the late James and Mary (Sonato) Batiz. On May 8, 1954 at Memorial Presbyterian Church in South Bend she was united in marriage to the love of her life, G. David Pecze, who precedes her in death. Yolanda was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cared deeply about her family and spending as much time with them as she could - especially her beloved grandchildren. She would spend many weekends at their property in Foxwood Hills in Middlebury with her family, which they have owned since 1965. She loved to go camping and go on cruises. She was also an avid fan of Notre Dame, she would watch every game even into her last days. Yolanda is survived by her daughter, Pamela (John) Martz of South bend; her son, David Emery Pecze of South Bend; grandchildren, John Ira (Kimberly) Martz, Jr and Jennifer Joan (Ryan) Frey; and her great-grandchildren; Mariella Martz and Mackenzie Frey. Along with her loving husband and parents, Yolanda is preceded in death by her four brothers, Andrew, James, John, and Louie; and her three sisters, Elizabeth, Margaret, and Mary. Private services will be held for the family. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery, South Bend at a later date. Palmer Funeral Homes-Welsheimer North Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made in Yolanda’s honor to First Presbyterian Church, 401 Lincolnway East, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
