Geza David Pecze, 84, of South Bend died Monday evening in Kindred Hospital Northern Indiana. Geza was born November 1, 1928 in South Bend to the late Joseph and Barbara (Molnar) Pecze. He was also preceded in death by his sisters Marie Piechocki and Julia Cummings and brothers Joseph and William Pecze. On May 8, 1954 He married the former Yolanda Batiz who survives and cherished 58 years they spent together. He also leaves behind his daughter Pamela Joan Martz (John Sr.), and son David Emery Pecze of South Bend. 2 grandchildren Jennifer Martz and Fiancé Ryan Frey of Rossville, IN, John Martz Jr. (Kimberly) of South Bend and great granddaughter Mariella Martz.Geza retired from Bendix/Allied Signal after 371/2 years of service. He attended the South Bend Central High school and later joined the United States Navy and was discharged with honors in 1947. He was a 32nd degree Mason with Lodge 45 F&AM, the Square and Compass club of Bendix and Bendix American Legion Post 284, the Bendix Salaried Retirees Club. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday March 15th in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home 521 N. William St. and burial with Military Honors will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family today from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. a Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions in Geza’s memory may be made to the 1st.
