SOUTH BEND -- Douglas Scott Taelman, 42, of North Kentucky Street, died Sunday in Memorial Hospital. St. Joseph County Deputy coroner Rex Rakow is investigating the cause of death. Survivors include his parents, Ted E. and Roseann Taelman of South Bend; a sister, Diane Latoski of South Bend; and a brother, Jeffrey M. of South Bend. Obituary: Douglas S. Taelman (Oct. 22, 1961 -- Feb. 22, 2004)
SOUTH BEND -- Douglas Scott Taelman, 42, of North Kentucky Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 1 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.Mr. Taelman was born on Oct. 22, 1961, in South Bend, and was lifetime resident of the Michiana area. Mr. Taelman is survived by his parents, Ted E. and Roseann Taelman of South Bend; a sister, Diane Ranay Latoski of South Bend; and by a brother, Jeffrey M. Taelman of South Bend. Mr. Taelman was self-employed as a hair stylist. Doug was a warm, caring and loving person, and will be sadly missed by his loving family and numerous friends he made during his life journey. Private family visitation and funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the Highland Mausoleum. Rev. Reed Anderstrom officiated. The family request that all memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice. The Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/Indiana 23, South Bend, handled the arrangements and services and extend deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Taelman family.
