Yvonne Polovina Valparaiso, IN Yvonne Polovina, 91, of Valparaiso, IN, formerly of South Bend, passed away at 12:38 pm Friday, March 17, 2006 in VNA Hospice, Valparaiso. Yvonne was born on May 15, 1914 in Mayville, Wisconsin to Stevan and Georgia (Beljan) Dallich. She was employed by the South Bend Community School Corporation and taught at Studebaker School. She was a member of the Sts. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church, was Past President of the Circle of Serbian Sisters and was the former Director of the Aleska Shantich Choir. On November 27, 1938 in South Bend she married Michael J. Polovina. He died on March 5, 2005. Surviving are two daughters: Georgia Bricker of Valparaiso and Nadine (Boza) Ilich of Elizabeth, NJ; two grandsons: Michael Ilich and Peter Ilich; nine nephews and nieces: Millicent (Bill) Chapman, Michael (Dee) Dallich, Patrick (Karen) Hayes, Mike (Lynn) Hayes, Jim (Jan) Hayes, Dan (Renee) Dallich, MaryJo (Bill) Schaars, Nancy (Chuck) Torinas and Sandra Dallich. Yvonne was preceded in death by two sisters: Anna Stipanovich and Mildred Hayes; two brothers: Nick Dallich and Mike Dallich; son-in-law, Thomas Bricker. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 am EST Tuesday, March 21 in Sts. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church, South Bend. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4-8 EST Monday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue, South Bend, where prayer service will be recited at 7:00 pm EST. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Aleska Shantich Choir. Published by The Times on Mar. 19, 2006.
