[N25628] Michael J. Polovina Pine Village Circle/ Valparaiso/ South Bend Michael J. Polovina, 93 of Pine Village Circle, Valparaiso, formerly of South Bends passed away at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005. Michael was born on March 30, 1911 in South Bend, IN and the son of the late, Joseph and Milica (Stevich) Polovina. Also preceded him in death were two sisters: Madeline Sarich and Anna Polvina. On November 27, 1938 in South Bend, Michael married the former Yvonne Dallich she survives along with two daughters: Georgia (Thomas) Bricker of Valparaiso and Nadine (Boza) Ilich of Elizabeth, New Jersey; two grandchildren: Michael F. Ilich and Peter D. Ilich both of Elizabeth, NJ; one niece Mitzie (Bill) Chapman of South Bend. Along with many nieces and nephews in Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Michael was employed by the former Studebaker Corporation and retired from Ace Tool & Die in South Bend. He was a member of the Saint Peter and Saint Paul Serbian Orthodox Church in South Bend, where he served as a Past President. He was also a Cantor for over fifty years. Michael was a member of the Aleksa Shantich Choir, a violinist with the Orao Serbian Orchestra Michael was a well known Poet, one book of his poems that was published is "Rememberances." Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday March 8th in Saint Peter and Saint Paul Serbian Orthodox Church, South Bend. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, South Bend. The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 PM Monday in Zahoan Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue South Bend. Where a Prayer Service will be held at 6:00 PM. Memorial Contributions may be made to the church Choir.
