Stanley Alex Nawrocki, 76, of South Bend, Indiana, unexpectantly passed away at his home on Saturday, February, 27th, 2021. He was born in South Bend, Indiana to Alex and Mary (Kendziora) Nawrocki who both preceded him in death. On December 4th, 1980, in Las Vegas, Nevada, he married the former Penny Walker, she died January 17th, 2009. Stanley was a retired Truck Driver from Consolidated Freightway, and also retired from the St. Joseph County Highway Dept. as a Supervisor. Stanley was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving honorably in Vietnam. He was a board member of the American Legion, Post #357. He loved to fish and golf and being with his friends and family. Stanley also was an avid Notre Dame and Chicago Cubs fan. Stanley is survived by his children: Jeff Nawrocki and Trina (Ron) Dille, along with his six grandchildren, Garrett, Trent, Jenay, Cheyanne, Harlow and Alano; two sisters, Georgene Buchanan and Shirley (David Kenneth) Lauver. Also surviving are five great grandchildren, his nephews, Keith Lauver, Craig Lauver and Rick Buchanan along with several cousins and a great nephew on the way. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 13th at 2:00pm at American Legion Post # 357, South Bend. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Pet Refuge or to the St. Joseph County Humane Society.
