South Bend - Loraine J. Dodd, 89, passed away on Thursday, April 28 with her family by her side. Loraine was born March 13, 1933 in South Bend to the late Joseph and Florence (Nitka) Szyja. On May 29, 1954 Loraine married her loving husband, Thomas Dodd, he preceded her in death on September 18, 2018. She is also preceded in death by her son and his wife, Thomas (Lori) Todd. She is survived by her daughter, Anne (George Gordon) Schramm, granddaughter, Amanda (Matt Sult) Schramm, and a sister, Marlene (Ronald) Satkowiak. Loraine was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and sharing her recipes. She also enjoyed crocheting, puzzles and reading. Loraine was the happiest while spending time with her family and friends. Her wonderful, pleasant personality was inviting and everyone loved being around her. Visitation for Loraine will be Monday, May 2,2022 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, Mayflower Rd. with a Rosary to be prayed at 4:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 in Holy Family Catholic Church at 10:00 am.
