Vern Moore, 65, of Lafayette, Ind. formerly of South Bend, died Thursday in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. He was born in Vienna, Ill. on Jan. 19, 1913. He married Esther Ratajczak on Feb. 1, 1940 in Roseland. She survives along with two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Zgonina of Schaumburg, Ill. and Mrs. Gary Burton of Indianapolis, four sons, Timothy of Carmel, Ind., Joseph of Dayton, Ohio, Daniel of Schaumburg, Ill., and Patrick of Muncie, Ind. and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Cathedral, Lafayette. Msgr. Potthoff, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday in the Landis-Loy Mortuary, Lafayette. Memorials may be made to Tippecanoe County Heart Fund. He had been an employee of the Bendix Corp. and a city bus driver in South Bend for 20 years. For the last 11 years he was an air conditioning engineer with Purdue University, retiring recently.
