[N2317] SOUTH BEND - Loretta T. Kwiatkowski, 79, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, December 17, 2009, in Memorial Hospital. Loretta was born on May 6, 1930 in South Bend, to John and Tillie (Radecki) Niemier, and was a lifelong resident. She retired in 1995 from the former K Mart on Western Avenue, where she was employed there for twenty-seven years. She had also been employed with the former S.S. Kresge. On May 16, 1953, in St. Stanislaus Church, as Loretta T. Niemier, she married Robert S. Kwiatkowski, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Joseph (Connie) Kwiatkowski and Paul (Beth) Kwiatkowski, both of South Bend, IN; and four grandsons, Craig, Adam, Brian, and Nicholas Kwiatkowski. She was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Wozniak. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 21, 2009, in St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 until 8 p.m., Sunday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. Loretta was a 1949 graduate of South Bend Catholic. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Parish and Rosary Society.
