SOUTH BEND - Maxine F. Senesac, 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at 4:17 PM Sunday, November 30, 2014, at Center for Hospice Care, Roseland, Indiana. Maxine was born on July 4, 1926, in Bradley, IL, to the late Arthur "Bud" and Mabel (Brickle) Hays, and had resided in this area since 1952, coming from Illinois. On September 14, 1947, in Kankakee, IL, she was united in marriage to Lionel L. Senesac, who preceded her in death on May 25, 1997. Maxine cherished her role as a homemaker. She also worked part-time at Inwood, Robertson's, and then ten years at Martin's Supermarket on Portage Avenue. Maxine enjoyed serving as a Campfire Leader during her children's younger years. Maxine is survived by her daughters, Colette M. (Matt) Magor of South Bend and Liz (Chip) Gaver of Granger; sons, Marc A. Senesac of Hinsdale, IL, and L. Michael (Patty) Senesac, Sr. of South Bend; daughter-in-law, Jayne Schellinger; nine grandchildren, Hillary Jeffery, L. Michael Senesac, Jr., Brandon Magor, Christopher Magor, Jennifer Magor, Katie Schellinger, CJ Gaver, Greg Gaver and Emily Gaver; and four great-grandchildren, Neal Jeffery, Nolan Jeffery, L. Michael Senesac III and Adelyn Senesac. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur "Bud" and Mabel Hays; husband, Lionel L. Senesac; daughters, Laura Schellinger and Carol Louise Senesac; son-in-law, Joseph Schellinger; sister, Rita Mae McCleary; and brothers, Charles Hays and Richard Hays. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, December 5, 2014, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1050 Wilbur Street, South Bend, IN 46628. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery (State Road 2, South Bend). Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday, December 4, 2014, in the Palmer Funeral Home Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635.
