An 84-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday evening in Berrien County.
Police say they were dispatched to an area near the intersection of Elm Valley Road and Boyle Lake Road in Wee Saw Township around 5:07 p.m. When officers arrived, they found that a Jeep had left the road and driven into a tree, according to a release from the Berrien County Sheriff's Office. The driver, Jack Lee Phillippi, of Galien, was pronounced dead at the scene. Phillippi was wearing a seat belt, and police say weather does not appear to have been a factor in the crash. The Berrien County Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
