Casimir C. "Charlie Cash" Ditkosky, 76, of 738 Seybert St., Hazleton, and formerly of McAdoo, passed away Tuesday in Elkhart, Ind., at the home of his daughter, Antoinette Ditkosky. Born in McAdoo, he was the son of the late Stanley and Leona (Mocarsky) Ditkosky. He was a longtime member of the former St. Kunegunda's R.C. Church, McAdoo.
Casimir was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard. He was a retired machinist and musician. Casimir was a member of the Tony Nicholas and Applause Band. He was also a member of several other bands throughout his years and played the keyboard, accordion and piano.Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife, Diane (Heckman) Ditkosky; brother, Henry Mocarsky; and sister, Adele Sacco.Surviving are his daughters, Diane Ditkosky, Indiana; Christine Schoch, Higgins; Antoinette Ditkosky, Indiana; Barbara Ditkosky, Wapwallopen; and Elizabeth Ditosky, Wapwallopen; son, Casimir C. Ditkosky Jr., Hazleton; 21 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, John Ditkosky, Philadelphia; and nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Damiano Funeral Home Inc., Blaine and Cleveland streets, McAdoo. The Rev. Ronald Minner will conduct the service. Interment will follow in St. Kunegunda's R.C. Cemetery, McAdoo.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
