SOUTH BEND - Mr. Elmer Hobor, 81, of W. Ireland Road, South Bend, passed away at 7:26 p.m. Wednesday, April 4th, in Memorial Hospital South Bend. Mr. Hobor was born on September 18, 1925, in North Liberty, Indiana, and resided in the Michiana area his lifetime. On February 28, 1947, in South Bend, he married the former, Florence M. Andrzejewski, who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Carolyn (Daniel) Strong of South Bend; two grandchildren, Tiffany R. Strong of Elkhart and Douglas A. Strong of South Bend; a sister, Ethel Gums of Knox, Indiana; a brother, Frank Hobor of Hesperia, Michigan; niece, Barbara J. Douglas of Muskegon, MI. Mr. Hobor retired from the Studebaker Corp. and then became self-employed in electronics. He was a local musician known from South Bend to Nashville, TN. He was an excellent steal guitarist. He loved music, fishing, gardening and most of all his loving family. He was so very proud of being married to his lovely bride for 60 years. Mr. Hobor was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Nemeth and Alma Stachowski; and a brother, Michael Hobor Jr. He was a Veteran of WW II, serving in the US Marine Corp in Radio Materials Communications from 1943 to 1946. In the gentle breezes of memory, in the sweet harmonies of the heart, may you feel the comfort of knowing your loved one is ever with you. In life we are blessed with one true love. You were mine, and you will be forever. Your loving wife, Florence. On the request of Mr. Hobor, he wanted to be cremated and remembered during his life journey, Their will be no visitation hours or services. The family request that all memorial contributions be made to the charity of donor's choice. The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home located at West Ireland Road / Indiana 23 South Bend handled arrangements and extend deepest sympathy to the Hobor family.
