VALPARAISO - John Franklin Gulick, 66, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2012, in his home. John was born June 18, 1946, in South Bend, to John and Grace (Kavadas) Gulick. John was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Gloria Kelly; his in-laws, Gloria and Cy Wassenhove; and his brother-in-law, Dave Wassenhove. Surviving are his wife of many years, Judy, and son, Kyle; stepfather, Bob Kelly; sister, Robin (Robert) Schulz; and step-sisters, Karen (Roger) Clifton, Karla Wisemen; brother-in-law, Paul (Debbie) Wassenhove; special cousin, Thom Fautz; lovely friend, Lova Carter; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. John served in the United States Army and retired with 33 years of service from Ameritech. John enjoyed cars; he was an avid NASCAR fan, watching every race. He also enjoyed traveling all over the country with his family, cooking gourmet food, taking care of his birdfeeders, Judy's roses, and following politics. Visitation for John will be held 8:30 am to 10:30 am on Friday, October 26, 2012, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am on Friday, October 26, 2012, in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
