SOUTH BEND - Mary Virginia (Bueche) Hahaj, 91, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on April 6, 2013, at Sanctuary at Holy Cross, of a sudden brief illness. Mary was born in South Bend on December 26, 1921. She had two brothers, Gene and Louis; and two sisters, Agnes and Genevieve. She graduated from Central High School and attended beautician school. She was married to Ben Hahaj in 1941. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ben, and son, Barry (Elaine). She is survived by sons, Eugene (Judith) of Fort Wayne and Ben Jr. (Christine) of South Bend; and daughter, Nanette (Herb), also of South Bend. She is babcia (boosha) to nine grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren. Mary loved parties, Notre Dame Football and her martinis on Saturdays. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am Friday, April 12, 2013 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, IN. Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
