Devon "Bud" Clarence Birk
September 11, 1930 - May 17, 2021
Bud was born September 11, 1930 in Indiana to the late Clarence and Opal (Hathaway) Birk. On June 28, 1952 Bud married the love of his life Mary (Lehner) Birk, she preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were sons, Robert (Kelly) and Michael (Cindy) Birk. Bud is survived by his children, Sharon (Randy) Lawton and Dale (Jan) Birk; brother, Richard (Nancy) Birk; sister, Shirley (Jim) Davidhizer; grandchildren, Lee (Cristy) Wisler, Kayla (Chris) Anderson, Ryan (Margo) Birk, Lisa (Nick) Dudeck, Amy Birk, Mitch Birk; great-grandchildren, Camille, Wade, Owen, Evan, and Andrew. Bud honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He retired from Bendix after 35 years. Bud loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He believed in strong family relationships. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, golfing, woodworking and spending time at the lake. Bud especially loved attending auctions and garage sales. The family would like to thank the staff at North Woods Village for their kindness in caring for Bud. A Private Visitation and Service for Bud will be held at ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to Birk Family Endowed Scholarship at Lake Michigan College, 2755 E. Napier Ave., Benton Harbor, MI 49022 Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
