Peter Szkielka
July 27, 1878 - December 26, 1938

Peter Szkielka, aged 60, of 1923 West Linden Avenue, died at 6:50pm Monday in St Joseph Hospital after a week's illness. He was born in Poland July 27, 1878, and came to South Bend from that country with his parents when a year old. Mr. Szkielka was employed as an assembler at the Oliver Farm Equipment Company plant and worked there until December 16. Surviving are a son, Richard Szkielka; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Lewandowski and Mrs. Theresa Paprocki, all of South Bend and Mrs. Barbara Malak of Chicago; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Deranek, Mrs. Stella White and Mrs. Blanche Wierzbicka, and three grandchildren, all of South Bend. Friends will be received in the home after 6pm today. The funeral will be at 9am Friday in St Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Stanislaus S. Kuszynski, CSC, pastor, chanting a requiem High Mass. Interment will be in St Joseph's Polish Cemetery. Mr. Szkielka was a member of St Stanislaus Brotherly Aid Society.
