Rose M. Ratajczak, 79, of South Bend, In, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2005, in he home.
Rose was born on October 7, 1925, in South Bend, to Samuel and Elizabeth (Markowski) Gember. On October 14, 1950, in St. Hedwig Church, as Rose M. Gember, she married Arthur L. Ratajczak, who preceded her in death on November 14, 1983. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Szymczak; and by a brother, Robert Gember.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra A. (Larry) Ringler of Niles, MI, and Teresa M. Ratajczak of South Bend, IN; two sons, Dennis J. (Julie) Ratajczak of South Bend, IN, and Lorence A. Ratajczak of Lakeville, IN; three grandchildren, Rashelle and Kristen Dale of South Bend, IN, and Lisa Ratajczak of South Bend, IN; two step-grandchildren, Kristine Johnson of Granger, IN and Jesse Ballew of Florida; one great-granddaughter, Madeline Hubbard of Granger, IN; one sister, Irene (Anthony) Panzica of South Bend, IN; one brother, Arthur (Betty) Gember of Three Oaks, MI; and by many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2005m in St. Hedwig Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Rose was a member of St. Hedwig Parish and the V.F.W. Post #9820 Women's Auxiliary.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
