[N34009] Edward Joseph Bowling
March 1, 1935 - December 19, 2022

Edward Joseph Bowling, age 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 19, 2022, at West Bend Nursing Home, South Bend. Edward was born March 1, 1935, in Mishawaka, Indiana. On May 7, 1955, Edward married the love of his life Dolores “Dolly”(Wisniewski) Bowling. They were married for over 60 years prior to Dolly’s passing in 2015. He is survived by his children, Michael Bowling, Debbie (Dion) Manee, Linda (Ed Marang) Hagen. Grandchildren, Mindy, Leslie, Christopher, Brandon, Adam, Jennica, Wyatt, and Lerah. Great-grandchildren, Austin, Cayden, Madison, and Mason and Edward's special dog "Ernie". He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly and his sister, Mary Elizabeth Bowling. A "Celebration of Life" gathering will be held from 5-7 pm Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Goethalsand Wells Funeral Home in Mishawaka. Edward grew up in Mishawaka, then moved to South Bend where he lived with his pride and joy Dolly for 62 years. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. Edward had several jobs throughout his life which included delivering milk, managing McDonalds for over 25 years, and then working at a local factory. Most of all, Edward will be remembered for his love of family and friends. He loved to listen to and dance("Just look at us") with his beautiful bride to polka music. He loved to watch wrestling on TV, was a huge Notre Dame football fan, and loved to cook. His favorite phrases were "If you got time to lean, you got time to clean" and "I'll get over it!" Don't remember me with sadness, don't remember me with tears, Remember all the laughter, we've shared throughout the years. Now I am contented, that my life it was worthwhile, Knowing that I passed along the way, I made somebody smile. When you are walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind, I'm walking in your footsteps, only half a step behind. So please don't be unhappy, just because I'm out of sight, Remember that I'm with you, each morning, noon and night. Always loved, Forever missed, Never forgotten. Love from your daughters, Linda and Debbie, your "Golden Girls!" In his memory, donations may be given to the Pet Refuge, 4626 S. Burnett Dr. South Bend, IN 46614.
