Niles - Verna J. Kubisiak, 70, of Niles, passed away, on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at her home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Swem Chapel. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 4:00pm until 8:00PM on Thursday June 17, 2021, at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Front St., Buchanan, MI. Memorial contributions in Verna's name may be made to Goodwill Industries. Those wishing to send a condolence online may do so at www.swemchapel.com. Verna was born March 24, 1951, to Mawell and Nancy E. (Finch) Johnson in South Bend, IN. She graduated from Washington High School in 1969. Verna married the love of her life, Robert Kubisiak in 1971. She worked for Goodwill for over 40 years before her retirement. Verna had a passion for helping people, she volunteered her time for the General Federation of Women's Club in South Bend, Indiana. In her spare time, she loved to crochet and enjoyed butterflies. Most of all she loved her family and will be greatly missed. Verna is survived by her children, Thaddeus "Alex" Kubisiak, Kevin Kubisiak and Jim Kubisiak; granddaughter, Hannah Kubisiak; and brother, Lloyd (Cathy Wilde) Johnson.
