June 21, 1952 - May 4, 2012 SOUTH BEND - Nicholas Walter "Sugar" Cukrowicz Sr., 59, passed away at 7:07 pm on Friday, May 4, 2012, in his residence. Nicholas was born on June 21, 1952, in South Bend, to the late Arthur and Delores (Krojniewski) Cukrowicz. He was also preceded in death by daughter, Janet Cukrowicz; and brother, Lee Cukrowicz. Nicholas is survived by his son, Nicholas W. (Amber Beduhn) Cukrowicz Jr.; three grandchildren, Kayla, Jasmine and Nicole; sister, Veronica (Scott) Prestine of Niles, MI; brother, Edward (Michael Miles) Cukrowicz of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sister-in-law, Maria Cukrowicz of Yuma, AZ; and close cousins, Dale & Judy of South Bend. He is also survived by his very close friends, Tim, Pete & Cindy, Karen and Ernie. Nicholas worked as a forklift driver for Wells Cargo in Elkhart. He was a member of the North American Fishing Club, PNA 83, and the West Side Conservation Club. He loved being outdoors where he could enjoy kayaking, fishing, hunting, and camping. There will be a memorial service at the West Side Conservation Club, 24435 Grant Road, South Bend, on June 23, 2012, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, is assisting the family. Condolences may be made at
