GRANGER - Annemarie K. Szulczyk, 78, residing in Granger, passed away peacefully at her home at 4:23 am Tuesday, May 31, 2016. She was born July 12, 1937, in Augsburg, Germany, to the late Johann and Anna (Schweinberger) Fritz. She came to the United States from Germany in 1969. On August 3, 1985, in South Bend, Annemarie married Ronald Szulczyk, who preceded her in death on April 14, 2013. Annemarie is survived by her daughter, Tinamarie (Christopher) Lowe of South Bend; stepdaughters, Michelle (Jeff) Kessler of South Bend and Robin O'Block and Kim (Rick) Renz, both of Granger; sons, Robert Hilton of Granger, William (Cheryl) Hilton of Wasilla, AK, and Donald (Rita) Hilton of Vine Grove, KY; and stepson, Michael Szulczyk of Las Vegas, NV; as well as thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren. Annemarie spent most of her life working in the hotel and restaurant business, eventually retiring from A Step Above Hair Salon as the receptionist. Annemarie's incredible outlook on life and infectious smile touched so many lives. She would never hesitate to share her heart with friends and family. Memorial services for Annemarie will be held at Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, on Sunday, June 5th.
