John Banicki

John Banicki, who resided with his daughter, Mrs. Helen Kajzer, at 1302 Fisher St., died at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday in the residence after a year's illness. he was born in Poland on May 17, 1870, and had lived in South Bend 57 years, coming here from Poland. His wife, Maryanne Bogacki Banicki, whom he married in Poland, died in 1949. Mr. Banicki retired 23 years ago from Wilson Bros. Surviving besides Mrs. Kajzer are two other daughters, Mrs. Carrie Dobrucki and Mrs. Mary Maciulski, both of South Bend; four sons, Joseph, Leo, Stanley, and Steve, all of South Bend, and 14 grandchildren. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 1222 Napier St. Services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Casimir's Catholic Church by Rev. Bernard N. Niemier, C.S.C., pastor. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Mr. Banicki was a member of the Woodmen of the World.
