South Bend - Elizabeth (Betty) A. Krieg, 102, passed away at 4:10am on Monday, March 21, 2012 in Sanctuary of St. Paul's. Elizabeth was born in South Bend on August 5, 1909 to the late Frank and Rose (Elo) Egyed. Elizabeth was married for 20 years before she divorced, raised two children, Jack and Elizabeth Ann, while she toiled at many jobs. Elizabeth grew up on west side near St. Stephens's Parish, where she was a member for over seventy years. She attended German School at St. Mary's on Taylor Street. Elizabeth went to Central High School before starting her working career at Wilson Brothers Simplicity Pattern Company, Green's Dime Store and Radio Distributing. She was always a hard worker. Elizabeth enjoyed bingo, loved to read, watch wrestling, roller derby, "The Young and the Restless" the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and loved visiting the casino. Elizabeth was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, was blessed with a wonderful family. Elizabeth is survived by her children, Jack Krieg and Liz Krieg, daughter-in-law, Shirley Krieg, her grandchildren, Felicia Kruk, Bruce Krieg and Brian Krieg; her great- grandchildren Sarah Kline, Chelsea Kruk, Brent Krieg, Melissa Jones, Zach Krieg and Robert Krieg; her great-great grandchildren Adrian Ayala, Kai Jones, Avery Kline, Alexia Kline and Madeline Jones.Elizabeth was preceded in death by her brothers Joseph and Frank Egyed, and sisters, Rose, Agnes, Anna and Mary.
