SOUTH BEND - Muriel J. Lekarczyk, 74, died Wednesday in her home. Survivors include her husband, Bert; children, Bert "Tony" Lekarczyk of Mishawaka, Linda Wilson of Morganton, NC, Debbie Lekarczyk of Noblesville, Lori (Mark) Galyean of Westfield and Greg Lekarczyk of South Bend; and a sister, Marlene Coil of LaPorte. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where service will follow at 10 a.m. Published in South Bend Tribune on May 2, 2009.

SOUTH BEND -- Muriel and Bert Lekarczyk of South Bend celebrated their 50th anniversary with a family dinner. Bert Lekarczyk and Muriel Rehlander married Sept. 15, 1956, in LaPorte. They have five children, Bert A. and Greg, both of South Bend; Linda Wilson of Morganton, N.C.; Debbie Lekarczyk of Noblesville, Ind.; and Lori Galyean of Carmel, Ind. They also have nine grandchildren. Mr. Lekarczyk retired from Gibbs Wire & Steel Co., and Mrs. Lekarczyk retired from AM General Corp. They have lived in South Bend for 50 years.
