Edna M. Waidner, 92, passed away on Thursday, June 04, 2015 in Hospice House in South Bend. Edna was born on February 2, 1923 in Huntington, IN to Norval “Sam” and Hattie (Richards) Vergon. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kenneth, Donald and Richard Vergon and sisters, Mildred Arsennult and Betty Moss.
On June 25, 1941 she married Andrew Van Paemel who preceded her in death on September 26, 2010. Surviving are their children, Judith (Frank) Bishop of Grant, FL and Linda (Dale) Zbrzezny of Mishawaka; four grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Later she married Jack E. Waidner on August 23, 1965. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1987. Surviving from this union are one stepson; one step daughter; six step grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren. Edna was a loving mother and grandmother. She was an active member of Sunny Shores Garden Club.
Her talents in creative decorating could be enjoyed each holiday or outside her home by everyone. Rather you were family or friend she was known for her fried chicken, potato salad, chocolate cakes and apple pies. Visitation will be on Monday, June 8 from 3 to 7 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on
Tuesday, June 9 at 10 a.m. in St. Bavo Catholic Church with Rev. Barry England officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice Foundation Supporting Center for Hospice Care: South Bend-Elkhart-Plymouth, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
