OSCEOLA - Marilyn Hygema, 72, of Osceola, died Saturday, July 4, 2015. The Chicago, IL native was born June 27, 1943 to Albert & Ida (Hoffman) Simons. On November 8, 1969, she married Ronald Hygema in Mishawaka. Ron preceded her in death on October 19, 2013 after 43 years of marriage. Marilyn enjoyed cake decorating, quilting and the time she spent with her family & friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Marilyn was also preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte. She is survived by her children, Cathy Hygema of Mishawaka and Ron (Nora) Hygema of Osceola; grandchildren, Ashley (Andrew) Dench and Andrew (Makena) Hygema, both of Elkhart, Emily Stout of Mishawaka, Eddie Hygema, Kristy Hygema and Dillon Hygema, all of Osceola; her great-grandchildren, Riley Dench, Marlie Hygema and Jordin Dench; and her brothers & sisters, Penny, Billy, Kay, Robert, Arnie, Jerry, Alan, Jeannette, Debbie and Dennis. Memorial Service 2:00 Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy., where friends may call from 1-2 pm in the funeral home.
