MISHAWAKA - Dale DeBruyne, 61, passed away at home in Mishawaka, IN on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. Dale was born on February 10, 1956 in Mishawaka to Louis H. and Elsie J. (Bracke) DeBruyne. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mark. Surviving are a brother, Gary DeBruyne of Libertyville, IL; nieces, Brianna DeBruyne of Pekin, IL and Becca DeBruyne of Avon, CT and a great nephew, Cohen Kjelland. Dale co-owned and operated Feelings Cafe in New Orleans, LA for 30 years, and also owned and operated DeBruyne Bed and Breakfast in New Orleans for 10 years. He was a 1979 Notre Dame Graduate and was an avid swimmer, holding the record time for Butterfly at Mishawaka High School for many years. Dale was a member of the Notre Dame Alumni Association. He was a kind man with a generous soul and will be missed dearly by both family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 14 at 5 p.m. with visitation two hours prior in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Mishawaka where he will be laid to rest next to his brother, Mark.
